About this event
KDOW is hosting a series of webinars covering several introductory topics in floodplain management for new floodplain managers, or for those that could use a refresher of their training. As February to May tends to be Kentucky’s flooding season, the first webinar in this series will be The Disaster Permitting Worksheet.
FEMA’s Public Assistance (PA) program provides supplemental grants to state & local governments, and some non-profits, so communities can quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies. As part of this PA reimbursement process, communities must show compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements before reimbursement can occur, including both floodplain permits & 404/401 permits. The Division of Water (DOW) has an expedited permitting process that simplifies the state permitting review for community applicants called the Disaster Permitting Worksheet.
In this 90-minute webinar, attendees will be introduced to the Disaster Permitting Worksheet, will be shown how to find the Worksheet, how to complete the Worksheet properly for review, where to find data being requested on the Worksheet, and how to submit a completed Worksheet, and more. There will also be time for a Q&A session with DOW staff after the webinar.
