2016 Abstract Submittal

KAMM Accepting Abstracts for the 2016 KAMM Conference

The Changing Climate of Mitigation

The “new normal” in natural hazards management and mitigation is quickly becoming a reality, and it will continue to underlie and influence how we perform our jobs and set future policy. The cyclical changes we have seen in weather patterns over the last couple of decades drives our understanding of the need to build communities that are more resilient.

We are seeking abstracts for the various session types listed below to be presented at the 2016 KAMM annual conference from local, regional and federal officials, agencies, consultants, KAMM members, or anyone else with an interest in mitigation.

  • Workshops (2, 3 or 4 hours)
  • Concurrent Sessions (30 and 50 minutes)
  • Plenary Sessions

Topics of interest include:

  • Success Stories and Projects
  • Green Infrastructure
  • Long Term Recovery Planning
  • Education and Outreach
  • Engineering
  • GIS
  • Program Development
  • Recovery
  • Floodplain Management
  • Mitigation Techniques
  • Resilience Projects
  • Emergency Management
  • Disaster Response and Preparedness

Please be sure to indicate whether your presentation will be for a beginner, intermediate or advanced audience in the abstract submittal form.
