Announcing L0278: NFIP & the CRS Training in Kentucky


KDOW offering the FEMA field deployed ‘L0278: NFIP & the Community Rating System’ course

August 13  – 16, 2018

8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Kentucky Division of Water (KDOW)

Training Room C, 300 Sower Blvd. Frankfort, KY 40601

Deadline to register is July 31, 2018.  Class limited to 35.  


This 4-day training course covers the Community Rating System (CRS), a nationwide initiative of FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  The training will provide detailed info for the following:

  • Describe activities eligible for CRS credit.
  • Understand how a community joins the CRS program.
  • Identify how to modify an application to improve classification.


Attendance to this course will be restricted to the following attendees

1) Officials from communities either currently in or in the process of joining the CRS program

2) Certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs)

3) Floodplain coordinators that previously completed the L0273 NFIP course

If you are not sure if you meet these criteria or not, please contact the Commonwealth’s NFIP Coordinator for help finding out


Lunch:  Class is from 8-4:30 with a 1-hr. lunch.  Lunch is not provided but there is a commissary in the building.
