2020 KAMM Conference Call for Abstracts

September 22 – 24, 2020 Annual Conference

September 21, 2020 – Preconference Workshops and Activities

Appalachian Wireless Arena, Pikeville

We invite KAMM friends to take part in this year’s annual conference and preconference activities by submitting an abstract for the conference program.  If you are a local, regional, or federal official, an agency, a consultant, a KAMM member, or anyone else with an interest in mitigation, we invite you to be a part of our conference program. Please submit abstracts for the following session types.

Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced

  • Workshops (2, 3 or 4 hours)
  • Concurrent Sessions (30 or 50 minutes)
  • Plenary Sessions

Potential Topics

  • Mitigation Initiatives
  • Green Infrastructure
  • Low Impact Development (LID)
  • Education & Community Engagement
  • Grants Projects
  • Mapping Tools
  • Higher Standards
  • Mapping and Innovation
  • Stormwater & Stream Programs
  • Floodplain and Stormwater Management
  • Mitigation Techniques & Best Practices
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Mitigation Successes: Acquisition, Retrofit, Floodproofing
  • Public Assistance

Interest in mitigation, codes or standards, stormwater management, green infrastructure, stream restoration, or community revitalization?

The deadline for submissions is April 20, 2020. 

Selected presenters will be notified by May 15.  

In early June, the draft conference agenda will be posted on KAMM’s website to begin annual conference registration.  Presenters are required to register for the conference.
