Save the date for the 2019 conference.  For planning purposes, the cost of the conference is $175 for members, $200 for non-members.  Registration to open in May.  See lodging info below. 


2019 KAMM Conference Call for Abstracts 

We invite KAMM friends to take part in this year’s annual conference and pre-conference activities by submitting an abstract for the conference program.  We are seeking abstracts suitable to this year’s theme – KAMM XV: Celebrate the Past, Inspire the Future for our anticipated largest conference ever.

If you are a local, regional, or federal official, an agency, a consultant, a KAMM member, or anyone else with an interest in mitigation, codes or standards, stormwater management, green infrastructure, stream restoration, or community revitalization, we invite you to be a part of our conference program. Has your community implemented a project, plan, or action that you want to showcase?  Have you collaborated with the private sector or state partners to identify and mitigate a key piece of infrastructure?

Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) Exam

KAMM will host the CFM Exam on Monday, September 16, 1:00 – 4:00pm

The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) has established a national program for professional certification of floodplain managers.  The program recognizes continuing education and professional development that enhance the knowledge and performance of local, state, federal and private sector floodplain managers.  The ASFPM CFM Program is directed toward individuals from widely varying occupations, interests, and educational backgrounds who have routine floodplain management duties.  This includes representatives from the following groups: community/state/federal officials, the private sector, academia, interest groups, and private citizens.

Application to Take the Exam:  To take the CFM exam, you must be registered through the ASFPM and pay a fee to take the CFM Exam.  Visit the ASFPM website (www.floods.org) for details or link directly To Apply for ASFPM CFM Certification.
